A MOVIE REVIEW: PRIDE AND PREJUDICE

Pride and prejudice is a film based on the Jane Austen novel. This film was directed by Joe Wright. The genre is romantic and comedy. it is excellent film because it shows the customs of century XIX in England, their dances, the beautiful way to speak, the different social classes. It also shows the influence of women`s beauty on the marriage and the rich society. Starring by Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy. This film presents the problems created by the racism and prejudice. Throughout the story the characters learn of their mistakes, and they recognize they love each other, even though they are different.

Pride and Prejudice is a humorous story of love and life among English gentility during the Georgian Era. Mr. Bennet is an English gentleman who is living in Hartfordshire with his arrogant wife and his five daughters. Unfortunately, if Mr. Bennet dies their house will be inherited by a distant cousin Mr. Collins. For this reason, the only solution to save his daughters is to get them into a good marriage.  Bennet´s life is uneventful until the arrival of a rich gentleman Mr. Bingly who rents a big house to find a woman to get married. Mr. Bingly brings with him his sister and Mr Darcy. In a party Bennets´ daughters are introduced to Mr. Bingly, his sister and Mr. Darcy. Jane the oldest of the sisters falls in love for Mr. Bingly. Elizabeth the other sister meets Mr. Darcy. But Elizabeth thinks that he is very proud. She says that he would be the last person of the world who she would marry. The Bennets´ sisters have to exprience moments of sadness and happiness because of differences envy, gossips and scandals. In this story Darcy and Elizabeth have to mature and overcome for many obstacles that could change their lifes.

I love romantic films. This is not the typical love between two people with different economical condition. This film shows the reality of the time, and how the people dealt with every situation. The dances are spectacular, elegant men, women, and the customs of XVIII century from London. In this time the men met women at parties and chose their wives there. The beauty was very important and the love did not interest them so much. I recommend this film to young people and adults because. It is a real romantic film. This film allows the audience to enjoy the customs in England of XVIII century.
